Are you an estate agent, letting agent or accountant with anti money laundering obligations under HMRC? If so, you are probably aware that a change in AML supervision is on the horizon. The UK government has confirmed that the FCA will become the Single Professional Services Supervisor (SPSS) for AML oversight.
This move will affect all business types and industries currently supervised by bodies such as HMRC, The Gambling Commission or one of the 22 separate professional body supervisors who currently handle anti money laundering supervision.
As of mid-2026 preparations are underway following HM Treasury’s consultation response. This includes draft legislation making its way through Parliament and statements being published by current supervisors. It will likely be during 2027–2028 when phasing and transition periods come into effect. However, you do not have to wait or make vast changes if you are already a Know Your Compliance Limited customer.
Our range of AML policy templates and due diligence toolkits are already compliant with the existing FCA anti money laundering rules and combine current legislation and regulations with the rules and guidelines set by all supervisory authorities.
We have ensured that our AML policy and procedure templates are aligned with the Money Laundering Regulations (MLRs). This includes all requirements set out under the UK’s updated Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Amendment) Regulations 2026, enforced 30th June 2026.
When the rules and regulations start to roll out, we will ensure that all existing customers are provided with free updated templates and guidance papers. Why join the herd and wait for the rush when you can buy FCA compliant AML Policy Templates now and ensure a universally compliant money laundering framework.
