The UK left the EU on 31st January 2020, with the Brexit transition period ending on 31st December 2020. The ICO have published guidance for firms who transfer personal data to or from the UK so that they can continue to comply with the UK GDPR.
The ICO advise that “restricted transfers from the UK to other countries , including to the EEA, are now subject to transfer rules under the UK regime. These UK transfer rules broadly mirror the EU GDPR rules, but the UK has the independence to keep the framework under review”.
